In cooperation with SOCINTEGRA, the Riga Porcelain Museum has developed the tactile album “Touch the Porcelain”, which provides an opportunity for everyone to learn theoretical material about the history of Latvian porcelain, explore the forms and decorative elements of porcelain objects in the museum exhibition and outreach sessions, and makes the museum’s content accessible through tactile exploration for people with visual impairments of different ages living in Riga.

The content of the tactile album “Touch the Porcelain” consists of embossed prints of porcelain objects and their decorative elements. The album includes the most significant examples of porcelain forms, paintings, and decorations in various styles and from different historical periods of Riga’s porcelain manufacturers. Each tactile sample is accompanied by a descriptive text in Braille.

During the development of the tactile album “Touch the Porcelain” for the Riga Porcelain Museum, SOCINTEGRA tested all prepared tactile solutions together with people with visual impairments. Within the framework of the project, museum staff were also trained to work with visitors with visual impairments.
