SOCINTEGRA offers a training course for museum staff, cultural institution representatives, tour guides, and anyone interested in making their environment more inclusive for people with visual impairments. The course is based on SOCINTEGRA’s long-standing experience working with blind and partially sighted people, and is enriched by the direct involvement of visually impaired participants themselves.

Training course program

The course consists of three main modules, which can be combined according to your needs:

Environmental adaptation and tactile objects

-       Principles of spatial orientation and creating accessible exhibitions

-       Proper creation and placement of tactile objects

-       Choosing materials, forms, and textures for a high-quality tactile experience

Audio description

-       Creating structured, clear, and neutral audio descriptions

-       Practical application of audio description in both permanent and temporary exhibitions

-       Choosing appropriate language, adapting to different situations, and correcting inaccuracies

Needs and communication with blind visitors

-       Everyday life of partially sighted and blind people, and the assistive tools they use

-       Improving mutual communication, with attention to ethical and legal aspects

-       Practical exercises that help participants experience the perspective of a blind person

Training format
